![]() movie as the voice of Spike, Mario and Luigi’s boss. During an interview on comedian Bert Kreischer’s podcast The Bertcast, fellow comedian Sebastian Maniscalco revealed he is currently working on the upcoming Super Mario Bros. animated movie was announced to be in the works by the same studio behind Minions, we finally have the first details - er, detail - about it. If Miyamoto was in charge of producing the mailine mario games now, we wouldnt have SMO, this is the problem here, and why we feel is important to explain he shouldnt be attributed for creating stuff that other people expanded or actually gave a fuck about, just becuase he was the creator of the original game.Nearly four years after a Super Mario Bros. It doesnt matter what young Miyamoto (who was a very different thinking man than what he is now) thought when he made Jumpman be in a city against Donkey Kong, its what other people do with those ideas to move them forward, when we already know Miyamoto perosnally has said he doesnt give a fuck and he would gladly take ALL story out like when he forced koizumi to erase the any kind of story in SMG2. Is Koizumi who has always tried to give the franchise a little bit of an actual backgroung of Mario being a hero and Mushoroom kingdom and other worlds surrounding it actually existing, and things being actual adventures and not "plays" If you asked him about this movie's mario, he would probably say its as canon as all the other games, as in, theres not an actual sotry, and this is just another gig Mario had were he fitted the role of the movie with all the other character surrouding him. He has always treated Mario more like an actor with multiple "jobs" than he actually being a plumber that came from a city, thats what Odyssey hints at, and funnily its what external companies that were let used Mario franchise did. I think that might be a neat idea!Ĭlick to shrink. He always tried to stay as far from that idea as possible when he finally planted Mario in the Mushroom kingdom. Maybe we'll get flashbacks to earlier moments such as Yoshi's Island and Donkey Kong, and Mario's time working at construction, before he started his adventures in the Mushroom Kingdom. I timestamped the part where he covers Foreman Spike, but I'd suggest watching the whole video if you got the time, its a good look at early Mario history, and Wrecking Crew is an awesome NES game that I feel doesn't get too much respect now a days!Īnyways, what do you folks think about this potential news? I'm personally wondering if this means the Mario movie is going to be an origin story of sorts. ![]() You can see how he works here in this excellent retrospective on Wrecking Crew by Jeremy Parish. He's the foreman of the construction site, but he's also a dick and tries to sabotage you in the game. For those that don't know: Foreman Spike was a character from Wrecking Crew. If it's really Foreman Spike, that's one hell of a deep cut pick. Now he doesn't get too specific about Spike beyond him "being their boss", which is why there's speculation that he's referring to Foreman Spike, rather than the Mario enemy, Spike. Here's the timestamp given at by Nintendo Wire where Maniscalo drops the mention. ![]() Saw this on Nintendo Wire, surprised this wasn't posted yet! ![]()
